I had very good intentions of having this up earlier in the week, but got pretty behind with everything else going on. I debated not putting it up at all since most sales end on Saturdays, but that’s still enough time I guess! I’m hoping to have “Shop For Free” as a semi-regular feature.
Quick insert here in case you are like me and still need to get a quick pose with the Easter Bunny (I was dreading the mall lines for pics) and found out that Walmart is offering FREE pictures with the EASTER BUNNY! The line may be long for that too, but I won’t have to deal with the mall and it’s FREE!
Coupons in this past Sunday’s paper (3/16/08):
v General Mills cereal, $1 off 2 – the single serve boxes are 50 cents (or right at) ea. (Cheerios is not included on mine this time, so Cinnamon Toast Crunch looks to be the only one listed that I’ve seen in the single serve boxes).
v Huggies Bath & Body Product, $1 off – Target and possibly other stores sell soft travel packs of wipes for $1 and baby wipes are actually considered a bath & body product, even though they offer a separate wipes coupon.
v Huggies Cleanteam wipes $3 off 2 – not outright free by itself, but if you find a buy one get one free sale on these, the coupon would get you both items free.
v Big Red 2 Liter – If something is free but has “strings”, I don’t consider it free, but since this one requires you to purchase a household staple that we are most likely going to buy anyway – especially being Easter weekend (2 dozen eggs, not brand specific), I am including it here.
v Purina Healthful Life Cat Food, 16 oz bag. Coupon states FREE.
v Temptations Cat Treats – coupon states FREE
CVS This Week:
Note about CVS: Free is considered outright or after ECB. Once you start doing the ECB program, you should always use earned ECBs to purchase items earnng ECBs, (so spending 2.99 in previously earned ECBs on a 2.99 item then getting 2.99 back in more ECBs means you got it free and kept the same amount of ECBs). Also, limits refer to earning ECBs on te purchase.
v Maybelline Superstay lipcolor or gloss: 8.99, earn 8.99 (there is a $2 coupon in the Feb 10 inserts and a $1 tearpad coupon) (Limit 1)
v Glade 9oz. Sprays: .99 ea., use bogo coupon in this past Sun paper (to get both for .99), earn .99 ECB on 2 (Limit 5 deals = 10 cans)
v Listerine Smart Rinse for Kids: 2.99, earn 2.99 (limit 2) (Look for the rebate on or near display to make this a money maker! Just b/c your “deal” makes it free doesn’t mean you can’t send off for the rebate)
v Lady & Men’s Speed Sticks Deodorant: some areas got a $1 coupon in the Mar 9th paper, which you would need to make this free. 1.99, $1 coupon, earn $1 (limit 5).
v Gillette Venus Embrace Razor: 9.99, use $4 coupons in Mar 2nd insert, earn $6. (limit 1)
CVS This Month: I have a post listing these deals, but I am checking into rumors of “hidden” monthly deals, plus checking on coupons for those items to make the deal sweeter and will report on this in the next “Shop For Free”.

Free Yo-Baby Yogurt Promotion
I got this from Free 2 Be Frugal, who in turn got it from Money Saving Mom. Stonyfield Farm is currently putting forth a huge marketing campaign to spread the word about YoBaby yogurt. Only 1 per household. Valid until April 30th. This promo is being tracked for each employee, so if you could please put “Robert Levesque” in the first field and “Stonyfield Farm” in the 2nd field, he would greatly appreciate it. (The way the form reads, I think you have to have this info to avoid having your request rejected, so be sure to include all info if you are passing this along). Click HERE to sign up.
Coupon Notes:
v Buy one get one free coupons – if the store is having a buy one get one free sale on the same item, using the coupon would make both items free.
v Coupons for items available as travel sizes – if the coupon does not state you cannot use it on a trial size, then you ARE able to, which can make even more items free. Keep your eyes open for these.
v Most stores allow you to use one coupon per item (as long as the coupon states it is for one item, not off of 2) on buy one get one free sales, which increases your savings. I always get my coupons in twos for this purpose. I actually buy 6 Sunday papers, but that is for stockpiling purposes.
v Most stores allow you to use 1 store coupon and 1 manufacture coupon per item, so combining the 2 plus a sale could make the item free. Also check with your store to see if they accept competitor coupons, then look for those even if you don’t typically shop the other store (Food Lion for one has printable coupons, so if your store accepts their coupons, that becomes a whole ‘nother source for you)..
