My interests include scrapbooking, reading books and magazines, reading & researching online, couponing, bargain shopping, yard sales, among others. My plans <g> include redecorating (sprucing up!) our home room by room, creating an outdoor play space for our son / relax area for the whole family, front porch addition, developing (consistently!) a meal plan, getting back into the techniques of Flylady, having structured learning activities for my son, begin doing rebates, consider selling some of my bargain shopping stockpile on ebay, developing better organizational strategies, thinking of dabbling in digital photography, as well as many other plans, including the possibility of adding to our family in the near future.
I am the creator of “Christy’s World of Love and Smiles” / “The Game of Life” newsletter and website, founded in 1997, if you’ve by some random chance heard of it. It has been awhile since I used that as an outlet of my creative expression. I have grown and changed since that time, yet I am still me. I am not reviving it, though if you enjoyed what I created then, I am sure you will enjoy joining me again.
If we have met or even if we haven’t, I welcome you to join me in this new endeavor!

Hi there, thanks for visitng my site and inquiring on my pantry.
I don’t do alote of cooking with spices except for the spaghetti sauce and lasagna stuff. I do use some of those pre-made spice mixes. Check out Amy’s list as I use some of them. http://www.momadvice.com/food/create_your_own_mixes.aspx
I use mostly cinnamon, onion salt, garlic salt, seasoned salt. I have most of the others because I make homemade stuffing mix http://www.tammysrecipes.com/homemade_chicken_stuffing_mix
as you can see this has a large number of spices that you may not use otherwise. I just buy a small amount at my Bulk Barn and that way I don’t have to throw them out when they go stale. (plus it is cheaper) I bought my jars for the ones I use the most and had the extra’s stored in a large container up top. When I found I used one often I would buy another container and add to it. My containers that are one size larger house items like baking soda, cornstarch and baking powder, they are too large for the small ones but not big enough for the next size. The medium ones (that I bought at a dollarstore) keep riz, salt, choc. chips, different flours (riz and barley) Barley for soup, brown and light sugar, cocoa, cornmeal, breadcrumbs, coconut, raisings, nuts and other misc items. The large ones keep my sugar, icing sugar, oats and powdered milk.
I always have a container up top that I keep some ingredients that I am not sure I want to give a permanent home as it might be a one time thing. I also change them around as I find I don’t use something (recently one type of rice was replaced with navy beans)
I think I have listed most of the ingredients in my pantry. I dont’ use many spices as well on a regular basis and don’t like to experiment too much with a toddler and a baby that are picky but I do use nutmber, and those type of spices at Christmas more than during the year.
I hope this makes sense and by all means drop me a line if you have any more questions.
I have been reading your blog and am jealous of your deals you get at cvs and publix. We don’t have anything like that here and barely have coupons to clip.
I will live vicariously through you.
Take care
Niki
