Three Steps To Planning Dinner: Step-by-step workbook for planning and cooking quick, efficient meals from the 1-2-3… Get Organized series by Beverly Coggins comes in in a 3-ring binder with an accompanying CD-Rom. For easy reference, it is divided into three tabbed sections: workbook, recipes included with the package, and a section for your own recipes.
I was very excited to read this workbook because I haven’t been doing the “plan” thing too well (though I try!) when it comes to meals. My family doesn’t go hungry, but it sure would be great if the process could be more organized and less stressful.
After reading the Dinner Planning guide, stress-free dinner planning seems much more do-able. There’s a full page of time saver tips and several food stretcher suggestions.
One great tip she shares on the topic of recipes is to have a list of your favorite cookbook recipes – name of recipe, name of cookbook, and page number – for quick reference. This allows you to glance over the list and go right to the recipe without pouring over several books knowing that recipe was “here somewhere”.
