1-2-3… Get Organized Review & Giveaway
May 3, 2008 by multitaskingmama
I am please to announce the very first review @ Multitasking Mama…
Beverly Coggins is a professional organizer, author of the “1-2-3… Get Organized” series, and maintains the website by the same name. Bev contacted me in April to tell me about this wonderful series – simple, easy to read and very portable – yet so full of great advice & A PLAN!
These aren’t the first books I’ve read on somewhat similar topics. Other books have had more pages, smaller print – lots of content, yet left me asking, “but HOW?”. Bev doesn’t leave you asking how, instead she leaves you asking yourself, “how soon can I get started?”! This series is full of solutions to common issues. It really is the details in life that get us sometimes (a lot of the time!) and Bev gets right at those details and deals with them.
Over the next couple of weeks, I am going to be reviewing Bev’s materials, so be sure to check in regularly to read all about them:
Three Steps To Organizing Your Child’s Room
Three Steps To Clever Cleaning
I knew that you would be as excited as I to get your hands on these little treasures, so in conjunction with the series of reviews will be a giveaway!
The prize package will contain the following books:
-
Three Steps To Decluttering
-
Three Steps To Organizing Your Kitchen
-
Three Steps To Time Management For The Stay-At-Home Mom

Good morning! Great giveaway and very timely for me, personally. Although my home APPEARS organized and decluttered, if you start looking into closets and drawers you’d realize it isn’t. I woke up this morning thinking I needed to come up with a new system for getting these things done! I’m great on doing the daily tasks, but the bigger yearly and seasonal tasks (putting winter clothes in storage, decluttering things like linen closet, kitchen drawers, etc.) have been ignored. Help in setting up new systems would be wonderful!
I find bedrooms so hard to organize. I never know what to do with my comforters, towels, etc. My solution is to stuff everything in a drawer (make-up, perfumes, lotions, etc) but my dresser has only a set amount.
numero uno! this sounds fantastic…does it tell you how to declutter your husband’s stuff?????
I found the link to the website to be the most helpful part of the review. I can’t wait to check it out and get tips on how to be more organized! I will absolutely link to this giveaway on my blog. Check it out
My bedroom is an organizing disaster at the moment, and I need to get it sorted before new baby comes in a couple of months! Can Canadians enter?
Thanks for the link to her site! It’s been very helpful!
I need help organizing my baby boy’s room. He has SO MANY clothes, diapers, wipes, toys, etc., that it’s hard to know how to fit it all into his small dresser and closet!
I totally am in desperate need of some help uncluttering and organizing my childrens rooms and playroom. I TRY and unclutter it often…but it seems as though the toys reproduce…they are just impossible to keep under control!!! I would love these books to help me with this!!! Thank you so much!
I would love to enter for these books. I could really use them. Especially for decluttering my spare bedroom/office.
did you say organize?? yes, i’m on board…my bedroom gets less of my attention and so the piles appear. i need to spend more time in this room and make it more inviting. to me AND my husband…help!!
Actually to be perfectly honest I could use help in all three areas. However, I am not a stay-at-home mom, but will be for summer vacation. So if I have to choose I’d have to say decluttering. I’m an artist so I hate to throw anything away in case I can use it for a project.
Hi, If anyone needs decluttering and organizing, it is “ME!”
We have lived in this house for almost 5 years and I still have boxes, in the basement. in the garage, in our bedroom. I am so ready to make our house a home. There is hardly anything hung on the walls. The phase I am in now is “Where do I begin with so many boxes filled with stuff?! Much of it has never been used and are decorations that I really like! Please enter me in your drawing. Thanks very much…..Cindi
Great giveaway! The hardest part of my home to keep organized is my “craft room” which is shared with the family room in our lower level. It’s so easy to dump things there and to reason that with three little ones, I’ll never have the time to do sewing. But I am desperate to get sewing done, yet I want to take very seriously my responsibility to keep the home (prepare meals, clean house, laundry, homeschooling, etc.). I could certainly use all the advice help I can get!
Thanks!
My place is a mess and I just can’t seem to find a system that works for me, however I’m haven’t given up hope of finding something that sticks!

My bedroom is perpetually unorganized. I’m also stuck on what to do with the hodgepodge of stuff in the den closet.
Okay, I was skimming your thing..never did figure out why you should use a bookcase instead..need to go back and read. However, just a comment on taking things to where they belong..I”m good about that..except I don’t actaully put them away..so then I have a mess in the next room. Will keep reading.

Organization….Please help. My college age daughter just moved back home and my homes needs to be re-organized and de-cluttered. ORGANATION…TAKE ME AWAY!!!
I need the most help in my home office! It is basically a dump all room and I have a small path to the computer.
I would love to be entered for this contest. Your review on the children’s bedroom was great!
We are moving in 2 wks so RIGHT NOW I need help organizing packing boxes and then I’ll need help organizing unpacked boxes.
Re: Child’s room organization… I just tackled our living room “Toy Situation” yesterday. I bought one of those Closetmaid Cubical units in Cherry (matches our furniture) and bought black suede cubicals for it. It holds all the boys small, cluttery toys, doesn’t look anything like toy storage, and doubles as a piece of furniture (I have a picture frame and a candle sitting on top). Next step is a toy box for the big toys that don’t fit. It feels so good to combat the clutter!!! I’d love to hear all her ideas for organizing my kids’ room
Oh dear…pretty much the entire house needs organizing (or we need double the space!), but the area in most dire need is closets and anywhere we store clothes. We tend to be sort of pack rat-like and it leads to SO MUCH STUFF and nowhere for it to go. Please help.
If you could see my office you’d know why I need these books.
Well done on the review. Now how about a coupon code just in case I don’t win? I posted over at http://sweetsouthernknits.blogspot.com/2008/05/1-2-3-get-organized-christy-over-at.html, so maybe I’ll have just 1 more chance to win!
I’m in desperate need on how to fix the 2 kids rooms for 4 kids now, and to get my kitchen more organized. I’d love to win these mini books to get my life back in order.
Pick me Pick me Pick me!!!
I dunno how to make something clickable here, but here’s where I posted to my blog yesterday. http://sweetsouthernknits.blogspot.com/2008/05/1-2-3-get-organized-christy-over-at.html
As my husband says, I’m an organized wannabe (and he’s absolutely right) … I could definitely use these books!
thanks for the contest!
I’d love to get my hands on a book that is full of “HOW”. I work full-time and my husband also works full-time. We subscribe to a live simply philosophy, so I know these books would be perfect for our lives!
I’m working in the kitchen today, I’d love to have the 1-2-3…Organized Kitchen book…I’m drooling over it!

Thanks for the chance to win- I love the idea of rotating toys in your children’s room, I would think that solves the problem of hearing “I have NOTHING to do” when their room is overflowing with stuff!
oooo..i’m like cindi..who said she has lived in her house 5 years..we have lived here 4.5 years..still have some stuff in boxes..and we have our house up for sale..lol..time to let go. But its so haaaarrrdddd.

I’m tackling my paper problem at the moment, but I’m reading as much as I can get my hands on to learn more from professionals!
This really sounds like a helpful read, I would love to win it.
I wish I could get all the decluttering done before kids are out of school, but just haven’t gotten it done. Mr. Polka Spot is working on his scheduled day off again, so its just not getting done.
Thanks for the coupon code!!! I may order the kitchen ebook today and start working on it…i dunno we’ll see!
