On Sunday, CVS paid me $3.86 to come pick out a few things and take those things home free. I’ve said before that my favorite price is free, but when a store offers to pay me to come pick up some free stuff, I just can’t refuse, LOL!! In the act of full disclosure, I actually paid $2.06 in cash. This is what my shopping spree netted me:
(1) Maybelline glossy lip color (priced @ $8.99)
(1) Listerine Smart Rinse, 250ml (priced @ 2.99)
(2) Oral-B toothbrushes w/bells & whistles (priced @ 4.99 ea.)
(2) pkgs of 12 plastic eggs (priced @ .99 ea.)
(2) pkgs of jelly beans (priced @ .99 ea.)
I spent $20.00 in ECBs and used a $4 off $20 transaction coupon. I then earned $25.92 in return, $5.92 more than I spent. Subtracting the $2.06 in cash I spent, that leaves me with a net gain of $3.86 – so it just figures out that is the amount CVS paid me to stop by and pick up those freebies. Anyone can do this – which means you (as long as you have a CVS store!). The eggs and jelly beans were a Sun/Mon only sale, so that’s over, but the other items are still a current ECB deal (Maybelline and Listerine a weekly deal, Oral-B a monthly deal). I’ll share more about that in an upcoming post, “shop for free.”

Hi. I’m Julie. I found your blog in my tag surfer. Hope it’s ok if I add you to my blogroll! I am a SAHM to a 21 month old boy:)
you said you spent 20$ in extra care bucks–but you already had to have those didn’t you, from buying things on a prior purchase? Not quite sure how that whole thing works. Will be looking forward to reading your shopping for free post!
